Love what you do and be PROFITABLE too!
You are a business owner, who sells photography.
First and foremost, you should price your products to be profitable to the business and provide an income for you and your family.
Ask most photographers why they do what they do and they’ll tell you they love making photographs. It is the reason so many of us got into this business.
You love your job so much – you’d do it for free, right? But doing something you love, doesn’t always translate into running a profitable business.
Do you pay yourself for your time? (or would you make more money working at McD’s)
Do you know if you are profitable? (before you file your IRS taxes)
Do you know what it costs you to produce your products?
Do you know (on a daily basis) how much of each dollar
that comes into your studio, stays in your pocket?
Do you know what your break-even point is?
How does your studio stack up against
the PPA Benchmark Survey?
So, If you work more hours than you want to, earn less than you think you should, then mark July 29 on your calendar and start towards making this year your most profitable yet!
